Stefan Minning

Studio Lampion co-founder Stefan Minning has always held a passion for animation.

Even in his early childhood days he would wonder how the lively characters he saw on TV had seemingly come to life from nothing but a series of still drawings. His early attempts to come up with a practical solution never worked out quite the way he wanted.

In his pursuit to solve this mystery, Stefan went on to study Computer Visualistics and obtained a degree in Media Design. After gathering several years of national and international experience in the graphics and animation industry, Stefan returned to Germany to start planning for what eventually turned into Studio Lampion.

Today, Stefan is not only intimately familiar with the technology behind animation, he has also created several animated short films on his own and developed a number of novel software techniques which continue to improve and enhance the animation production pipeline here at Studio Lampion.

His speciality are non-photorealistic computer graphics. These techniques enable us to use modern digital technology to create graphics and animation with more warmth and heart than regular computer renderings allow.

At Studio Lampion, Stefan is responsible for R&D and art direction.
